No Jiggle June!!

I can't believe it is almost June already!  We are in school until June 10th with the kids' last day on June 6th!  Trust me, the count down has truly begun!!

Through the inspiration of some awesome teacher/blogger friends, I joined Instagram over the weekend and am now OBSESSED!  I really love it!  It's bad because I now think in hashtags and am taking way too many pictures!  (But it's fun and I love it so I don't care!)  :)

Are you on Instagram?  Would love to find more friends to follow!  Leave me your name in the comments and I will follow you!

Anyway, did you notice the title of this post is No Jiggle June?  Well let me explain...

I am the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding on June 28!  So excited!!  I'm a healthy eating type of girl, never really drink cokes and I love my fruits and veggies!  I've always been pretty good about food, but it's the exercise that gets me!  I love to make all kinds of excuses (too tired, too busy, no time) and I need someone there motivating me or I'll never do it!  So that's where you come in!  I need your help to motivate me to keep moving this June!  (And July and August, too!)  It's been so inspiring to see all of the #3weeksnocheats posts and pictures from Rachelle and others at For Blogness Sake and it's amazing what a little peer pressure can do!  Let's keep this party going!!

Since I've developed this fun little obsession with Instagram, it's only fitting that I turn this into a hashtag so everyone can join in the fun!

So feel free to use #nojigglejune when you post on IG or FB!  I want to see you cooking your healthy meals!  I want to see you in your sweaty workout gear!  I want to see you excited about doing something active outside!  Thanks in advance for the motivation and inspiration!

I also made a photo-a-day calendar to make it even more fun!!

As you can see, some of the categories can be represented in different ways (water- for drinking, swimming, etc) and I can't wait to see what everyone posts!  Work It Wednesday could be an awesome work out or a pic of you working it in a new outfit or trying a new recipe!  And obviously, you don't have to post every day- just whenever you can!

My personal goals:
-work out 4-5 times a week
-continue eating healthy, continue using my NutriBullet
-find/use a yummy, non creamy, healthy salad dressing
-have fun!

Five for Friday! (on a Saturday)

Hello Friends!

Well lucky Kacey's Five for Friday post is all about SUMMER, but we still have two weeks of school left!  We'll try to stay busy and start cleaning out the classroom at the same time!  I'm moving rooms next year so I'll be packing EVERYTHING!  :)

Here we go with my Five-

If you follow me on Facebook, you've already seen this pic, but on Monday we got a visit from a mobile planetarium!!  It was so cool!!  We got to climb in the giant blue igloo and she showed us the sun, planets and constellations.  I was sitting on the floor with the kids oohing and ahhing right along with them!

We also got a visit from the RIF people and everyone got a free book!!  Yay!  I was so excited that so many of my kids picked Jack and Annie books (Magic Tree House series) and that so many of them are actually on the level to read them independently!!

We did some tear art projects this week and created our own flowers.  After making their flowers, they had to label the parts and the jobs that each part do to help the plant.  They had a lot of fun!

I got this lovely present from one of my boys on Tuesday!  I wore it all day and even had it on when I went to HEB that night to pick up food for our potluck on Wednesday!  Gotta love those special presents!!  :)

We started our All About Me Math projects this week!  We filled in all the math facts about ourselves and started working on the poster pieces.  I actually shrunk the pieces down this year and we're going to put them onto sentence strips when we finish the project on Tuesday!  I love doing this project every year, it's a lot of fun and it makes for a super cute hallway display!  If you are interested in checking it out, please stop by my TPT store to see it!  Be sure to check out the preview to see some student examples!

Hope y'all had a great week and enjoy your three day weekend!  Unless you're already off for the summer, well then I'm jealous!  :)

Mother's Day cards

Hi Friends,

Just popping in to share what we did this week to create special Mother's Day cards.  I know Mother's Day is tomorrow and you've already created something fabulous with your class, but I thought ours came out awfully cute and I want to share pictures!!

The bulk of the card involved writing about our moms.  I made some little fill in the blank circles for everyone and we worked on those a little each day on Thursday and Friday.

The things that my kids wrote were so sweet and funny- I was cracking up inside as they came to read them to me!

Once they were done with their writing, each of my kids got to make a folded card that tied in the front.  They cut their own hearts and then we glued yarn underneath them and let them dry while we were at PE.  The last step was to glue the writing inside and decorate!  I loved the way they came out!!

I love how unique they all are and how special they all turned out!!  What are your favorite crafts and activities for Mother's Day?

Hi Friends,

Well it's not a secret any more, TPT's giving us a great present for Teacher Appreciation Week- a sitewide sale!!!  Yippee!!

A few of my blogger friends and I are sharing fun products in this fun Wonderful Wishlist Link-Up!

So read on to find out about some of my favorite TPT products!

First up is a product that is actually not on my wishlist anymore- It's one that I already own and have started using with my class!!  It's the Spring set of Reader's Theater plays from A Teeny Tiny Teacher!  Let me tell you, my kids love doing these plays!!  They've had such a blast performing for each other and it's really helping with our reading fluency and expression!

Second up is an amazing writing resource from Fantastic First Grade Froggies, it's her Writing Center Tools!  This product contains all of her word lists compiled from her other Writing Center products.  These will make an amazing addition to our table baskets, which will be just perfect so my students have access to these words whenever they need them!!

Last, but certainly not least is this awesome Compound Words Set from Whimsy Clips!  This will just keep feeding my clip art addiction!!  I love everything from Whimsy Clips, don't you?  So cute!

I'd also love to show you a product or two from my store!  As the year is starting to wind down (25 days left for us!) I love to use my All About Me Math with my class!  It is a really fun project that my kiddos always love!!  You can grab it during the sale for 28% off!!

There is a worksheet for students to fill out with all sorts of facts about themselves that relate to math.  They list the number of teeth they've lost, how many pets they have and even write an addition sentence with the number of boys and girls in their families!  The worksheets look great hanging out in the hall!
